Changelog

What we shipped, when. New features, breaking changes, fixes and security notices. API docs.

  1. v2026.05.0 added

    Public /changelog, /integrations and /use-cases pages

The marketing site now ships dedicated pages for changelog history, supported integrations, and per-industry use cases. Each integration page documents setup steps, common pitfalls and code examples.

  2. v2026.05.0 added

Arabic UI infrastructure and RTL layout

Added /ar URL prefix with full RTL support, Arabic-friendly fonts (Cairo / IBM Plex Sans Arabic), and a language switcher in the navigation. Initial copy ships in English and Arabic; additional Arabic translations land progressively.

  3. v2026.05.0 added

    AI-discovery artifacts (llms.txt, llms-full.txt, ai-plugin.json)

Kalem now publishes /llms.txt, /llms-full.txt and a /.well-known/ai-plugin.json manifest so LLM-powered search engines (ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Claude Web) can describe the platform accurately when users ask about voice AI agents.

  4. v2026.04.3 added

    Self-hosted Dubai dental-clinic demo audio

The homepage now plays a self-hosted bilingual (English ↔ Arabic) call recording demonstrating mid-call language switching on a real reschedule scenario.

  5. v2026.04.2 added

    Public /security and /status pages

Added a security overview page documenting our compliance posture (TLS 1.2+, AES-256 at rest, GDPR alignment, SOC 2 Type II audit in progress, HIPAA-ready Enterprise) and a public status page tracking dashboard, database, cache, voice realtime, telephony and WhatsApp components.

  6. v2026.04.1 changed

Pricing simplified to BYOC engine fee

Kalem bills a single $0.04/min engine fee. OpenAI Realtime usage and telephony are billed directly by those providers with no Kalem markup. The free tier is now 100 one-time minutes with no credit card required.

  7. v2026.04.0 added

BYOC SIP trunk support (Twilio, Telnyx, Vonage)

Customers can now bring their own SIP trunk and route calls through Kalem without re-purchasing numbers. Validated against Twilio Elastic SIP, Telnyx, Vonage Voice and any standards-compliant SIP provider.

  8. v2026.04.0 added

    WhatsApp text and voice-note integration

Agents can now send and receive WhatsApp messages, including voice notes, with automatic transcription and bidirectional handoff to voice calls.

  9. v2026.03.2 added

    Vector knowledge bases on Qdrant

Upload PDFs, text files or web URLs and Kalem chunks, embeds and retrieves them at sub-100ms during a live call. Each account gets a private Qdrant collection (klm-collection-{account_id}).

  10. v2026.03.1 changed

    Sub-320ms median call latency

Kamailio + WebRTC + speech-to-speech path tuned to a sub-320ms median first-token latency on the OpenAI Realtime API.
