Accessibility statement

We target WCAG 2.1 AA conformance across kalem.me and the Kalem dashboard.

Our commitment

Kalem is committed to making our marketing site, dashboard and API documentation usable by people with the widest range of abilities. We measure ourselves against WCAG 2.1 Level AA and treat regressions in accessibility the same way we treat regressions in security or correctness.

What we do

  • Semantic HTML with landmarks (header, nav, main, footer).
  • Keyboard-reachable interactive elements with visible focus indicators.
  • alt attributes on every meaningful image; alt="" for decorative images.
  • Color contrast ≥ 4.5:1 for body copy and ≥ 3:1 for large text.
  • Form fields with visible <label> associations and explicit error messages.
  • lang on the document root, including lang="ar" and dir="rtl" on Arabic pages.
  • Skip-to-content link before the global navigation.
  • Modals and the cookie consent dialog trap focus and respond to Esc.

Known gaps

Some Nova-administered admin views are not yet fully WCAG-conformant. Those views are not part of the customer-facing surface, but we'll bring them up to standard as part of our 2026 accessibility work.

Reporting an accessibility issue

If you hit any accessibility barrier on Kalem, please email accessibility@kalem.me with the page URL, what assistive technology you were using, and what you expected to happen. We aim to respond within two business days.
